Bproduction releases Population, a Blender addon dedicated to crowd simulation. Population is available on Blender Market.
This addon includes 48 characters created using photogrammetry, sorted in three categories (sport, business, casual). 55 animations are also included (they were created using motion capture by French company Solidanim) These animations are categorized as well: movement, daily life, communication, work, Run, sports, dance… All of this with 8K PBR textures. The tool allows you to add color variations to the characters’ clothes, and there is even a stadium mode.
Population can be used alongside Cycles and Eevee. The addon required several months of hard work and a big financial investment: it is therefore not free, but still quite affordable ($135). A free edition (with 2 characters, 4 animations) will give you an idea of the product before you invest, and Lite, Studio editions are also available depending on your needs.
It should also be noted that updates are planned, depending on the success of this product: the team plans to add more characters and animations in the future.
