Pixar unveils RenderMan 26, the latest major release for their renderer.
Here are the key highlights of RenderMan 26:
- XPU Advancements: “RenderMan XPU receives substantial updates, enhancing light support, camera controls, and adaptive sampling capabilities, resulting in accelerated rendering and improved interactivity”.
As a reminder, XPU is used at Pixar for look development. In time, it will become a fully fledged renderer that can be used for final render in any situation. - Interactive Denoising: “The introduction of an interactive version of the machine learning denoiser revolutionizes rendering workflows, reducing iteration times and maintaining image quality during interactive sessions”.
- The Stylized Looks toolset has also been updated.
