Xencelabs is already well known among artists for their line of pen tablets, the Pen Tablet Medium & Small. Our sister company, Progiss, is an official reseller. But we were still waiting for Xencelabs to launch a pen display tablet, in other words a Wacom Cintiq alternative.
The wait is over, and Xencelabs announced the Pen Display 24 Studio Series!
This new product is clearly created as a Cintiq competitor, not as a cheap knock-off.
Here’s what Xencelabs told us about the Pen Display 24:
- 24 inches, 3840 x 2160 display
- Pantone & Pantone SkinTone validation
- Display with edge-to-edge glass, designed to reduce glare and reflection. Anti-fingerprint coating.
- Two pen sizes are provided. One pen comes with three buttons, while the other has two buttons, and each has an eraser.
- Activation pressire as low as 3g, sensitivity curve car be adjusted by the user.
- A Tilt Stand is included (can be tilted at any angle between 16 and 72 degrees). A standard VESA mount allows the Pen Display 24 to be used with other stands/arms.
- Included Xencelabs Quick Keys that can be attached anywhere on the side of the Pen Display 24. Up to 40 shortcuts per application, , 8 keys, physical dial, integrated OLED display.
- No noise, no heat: the Pen Display is “designed for silent and fanless operation, with a magnesium alloy rear housing that dissipates heat and eliminates the need for a fan”, explains Xencelabs. This should be especially useful in the summer.
- Virtual tablet mode. This will allow “pen control of multiple displays”. Xencelabs adds that users “can drag or manipulate objects from one display to the other using just the pen.”
- Windows, Mac, Linux drivers.
- 5.8 kg / 12.8 lbs.
The Pen Display 24 will be available in the second quarter of 2023. Xencelabs told us they hope to be shipping them at the end of April, but shipping dates may vary depending on your location. The Xencelabs Pen Display 24 will cost $1,899, £1,850, and €2,099.
