At CES 2024, NVIDIA unveils RTX 40 SUPER series, with three new GPUs: GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER :
- RTX 4080 SUPER is a $999 graphics card. It will come out January 31 and will be “twice as fast as a RTX 3080 Ti”, according to NVIDIA.
- RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is touted as being “1.6 times faster than a RTX 4070 Ti”. It will be released January 24 and will cost $799.
- Last, but not least, RTX 4070 SUPER is announced as being “twice as fast as a RTX 3090”. This $599 GPU will come be released January 17.
Of course, the statements above should be read with a grain of salt, since the performance will vary whether you are using these graphics cards for gaming of for with digital content creation tools. For example, the RTX 4080 SUPER is supposed to be about twice as fast as a RTX 3080 Ti when it comes to videogames, but it will only be 50% faster when rendering Blender scenes, according to NVIDIA. This is still a nice performance improvement, of course.
The following chart will give you an idea of the performance of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER & 4070 SUPER GPUs. According to NVIDIA, the former is almost twice as fast as a RTX 3070 Ti, while the latter is about 75% faster than a RTX 3070.
Of course, these performance improvements will have to be checked by independent reviewers.
