Finally! During the D23 conference, Disney unveiled a trailer for the highly anticipated Pixar series Win or Lose.
This is Pixar’s first original series. It is directed, produced, and written by Carrie Hobson and Michael Yates, produced by David Lally.
The series will follow a softball team as they prepare for a championship.
Pixar chose to use a more stylized approach than usual, with some 2D elements. On the technical side, there are interesting impressive innovations: for instance, facial elements such as the mouth and ears were handled separately from the head and then assembled. A technical paper goes into detail about the process, as we explained during SIGGRAPH 2023.
