When we watched Swing to the Moon at the ESMA 2022 graduation ceremony, we already knew that this short film about a spider reaching for the Moon would be a hit. The students from French digital arts school ESMA created a touching and poetic story, and they really managed to create beautiful visuals. We were convinced that this animated short film would receive many awards in various festivals. (the teaser is available below, if you haven’t watched it yet)
We were right: the team just received the Best Student Project at the SIGGRAPH 20223 Electronic Theater. Some of the directors were able to make the trip in order to receive this award.
The team came on stage to receive their award and give a speech:
After the ceremony, the team had the opportunity to discuss with various studios such as Pixar, Disney, The Yard at the party organized by Golaem. We also attended the event.
Congratulations to the whole team: Marie Bordessoule, Chloé Lauzu, Adriana Bouissié, Vincent Levrero, Nadine De Boer, Solenne Moreau, and Elisa Drique for this award, as well as to the ESMA school as a whole!
