A few days ago during the César Awards (the French equivalent of the Academy Awards), Notre-Dame on Fire received the Best VFX award.
This movie by Jean-Jacques Annaud recreates the events that took place on April 15, 2019, when a structural fire broke out beneath the roof of the cathedral. The movie also follows the work done by firefighters, as well as worldwide reactions to the event.

Here is the work done by The Yard on Notre-Dame on Fire. The Yard worked on exterior shots, including aerial views. They also worked on the “forest”: the wooden framework of the cathedral. Laurens Ehrmann, founder of The Yard, was the overall VFX supervisor on this movie.

MPC Paris also worked on Notre-Dame on Fire. Their artists led by Hugues Namur et Lise Fischer handled 385 shots, including shots taking place inside the cathedral.

Here is the trailer for Notre-Dame on Fire. Depending on where you live, the movie is available on demand.
