Laval Virtual is back, April 10-12 in Laval, France. This international profesional event is dedicated to immersive technologies such as VR, AR, spatial computing.
Here are the main highlights of the event. 3DVF will be there to cover it.
Nearly 200 exhibitors
This year, there will be around 190 booths on the exhibition floor. Among them will be hardware manufacturers, studios, service providers, schools and universities, as well as various companies. As always at Laval Virtual, diversity is the strength of the event. You’ll be able to get an overview of the VR industry as a whole in France, Europe and beyond.
#Experiences
Both a competition and a space within the exhibition, #Experiences provides a selection of VR/AR content. Here, you’ll discover creators, developers, and content producers.
#StartUps
The #Startups area will showcase companies that are less than 3 years old, presenting their latest innovations. Once again, a competition is at stake. This year’s menu includes realistic avatars, dynamic simulator kits, multiplayer augmented reality, and much more.
#ReVolution: Between research and exploration
#Revolution focuses on research, welcoming universities and research institutes from around the world. Japan, in particular, holds a prominent position. The projects are original, often very playful, and anticipate the usages of tomorrow. A must-see at the exhibition.
#Student Demo
The student demo area is also worth a visit. Teams from different French and international schools (Isart Digital, IIM, CNAM-ENJMIN, Texas A&M University, etc.) present projects relying on immersive technologies. This year, cook in zero gravity, discover a Solarpunk-inspired world, or admire a holographic burger!
Laval Virtual Party
Want to meet other professionals? Then don’t forget to attend Laval Virtual Party, which will take place on the evening of April 10th.
Conferences
Conferences, keynotes, roundtables, will focus on various themes and industries. Converging technologies, durable performance, building a better world, the future of work, education are some of the topics covered this year.
Tech-Talks are also announced, as well as a Doctoral Consortium programme. Note that the latter will take place at the Laval Virtual Center and not at the main exhibition location.
Laval Virtual Awards
On Thursday evening, an award ceremony will take place. 12 categories are announced, including the competitions mentioned above.
