At PIDS Enghien 2024, which will be held from January 31 to February 3, the GENIE Awards will reward talents in French digital creation.
A GENIE d’Honneur will also be awarded to “a person who has contributed through their creativity, sense of innovation, and vision to the evolution of the film and animated image industry”,
as PIDS Enghien explains.
Guillaume Rocheron to be awarded a GENIE d’Honneur
This year, this prize will be awarded to Guillaume Rocheron, VFX supervisor at DNEG, who has already received several Oscars, BAFTA, VES Awards.
PIDS Enghien summarizes his career, which includes films such as Panic Room, The Matrix Reloaded, the Harry Potter saga, Life of Pi, Godzilla (2014), 1917:
Guillaume began his career in the early 2000s at BUF in Paris where he gained his first experience working on commercials and international feature films. In 2005, he moved to the United Kingdom to work at MPC, where he became a VFX supervisor and participated in 24 feature film projects over 17 years.
During this period, Guillaume collaborated with prestigious filmmakers such as Ang Lee, Sam Mendes, Jordan Peele, Gareth Edwards, and Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
In 2012, Guillaume received his first Oscar® for his work as VFX supervisor on Ang Lee’s critically acclaimed “Life of Pi,” for which he also received a BAFTA and a VES Award.
In 2019, he supervised the visual effects of Sam Mendes’ war film “1917,” for which he received his second Oscar® for Best Visual Effects and his second BAFTA in the same category.
Guillaume’s most recent projects include Jordan Peele’s supernatural science fiction thriller “Nope,” Alejandro Gonzalez Iñaritu’s comedy “Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths,” and James Gray’s “Ad Astra.”

Guillaume Rocheron will receive his award on Wednesday, January 31, during the GENIE Awards ceremony.
He will also give a conference on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Centre des arts in Enghien-les-Bains.
PIDS Enghien will take place from January 31 to February 3, 2024, and is supported by the Centre des arts and the city of Enghien-les-Bains. The full program is not yet public, but as every year, it will consist of conferences, panel discussions, making-of presentations. A job fair is planned, as well as an exhibitors’ area.
Note that at the same time as PIDS Enghien, an exhibition of movie props, concepts, creatures will be held at the Centre des Arts in partnership with the Musee Cinema & Miniature located in Lyon, France.
