At the end of 2023, we showcased Kyōryū, a transmedia project initiated by Floating Rock Studio. The core idea behind the IP: two T-Rexes and other prehistoric creatures in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic version of Tokyo. The studio’s goal is to expand the universe into both an animated series and a video game.
Floating Rock Studio recently shared a trailer for the game. As expected, Kyōryū is powered by Unreal Engine 5. The team explains that the studio (comprising 25 people) aims to use it to deliver both a smooth, visually appealing in-game experience and high-quality cinematics for Kyōryū.
As for the storyline, players will control Tori, a young Samurai T-Rex, in third person. The setting is a world full of dangers, born from the imagination of artist Benjamin Mulot.
The trailer highlights exploration as well as exciting action sequences and dodging the many dangers populating the game’s universe. There’s a clear intention to offer varied environments and play with the character’s scale.
Kyōryū can already be added to your Steam wishlist via the game’s page.
