Big Stage, lui, offre une plateforme spécialisés dans la création d’avatars à destination du jeu, web et mobiles. A partir de quelques photos, la technologie Big Stage permet par exemple d’obtenir une tête 3D de l’utilisateur.
La technologie a l’avantage de supporter un grand nombre de plateformes : Java / J2ME, PHP, Brew, Per, AS 3.0 / Flash, .NET, Python, Android (Java), JavaScript, C++, iPhone (Objective C), Ruby.

Les raisons du rachat sont simples : conjuger les capacités d’animation d’Image metrics et les avatars de Big Stage. Image Metrics prévoit de fusionner la plateforme de création d’avatars de Big Stage avec ses propres logiciels, afin de proposer un nouveau produit au troisième trimestre 2011.
Le produit devrait permettre aux réseaux sociaux et sociétés de communication de déployer une solution complète d’avatars réalistes, customisables à loisir par les consommateurs.
Mieux : Image Metrics vise aussi directement l’individu lambda, et compte sortir un produit destiné au grand public, toujours avec comme optique de créer et partager son avatar.
